As part of the BBM 900 Addiction and Struggling with Addiction practice, a one-hour weekly book reading activity was organized throughout the spring semester for first-year students of the Podology Program under the coordination of Dr. Lecturer Ayşe Toraman Karagülmez. The activity aimed to help students develop reading habits, improve their social awareness, and increase their level of consciousness regarding addiction prevention. Through this regularly conducted activity, students contributed to their personal development through different books and had the opportunity to reflect on the individual and social effects of addiction. The students’ interest in and regular participation in the activity also set an example for other students and contributed to raising awareness about reading books across the campus. This practice was considered a productive activity supporting both academic and social development.
